This property renovation project in Bath was a minor Grand Design: a luxury kitchen-diner with basement excavation, linked by a large, double-height glass extension. The basement conversion included several innovative design features, including recessed LED downlighters, a polished concrete floor, and frameless glass balustrade. The kitchen design incorporated a flush-fitting induction hob, quartz-resin worktop, and mixed timber units with open shelf in european oak. A glass splashback was fitted with colour-matched switches and sockets, and large porcelain tiles over underfloor heating provided a practical floor covering for this kitchen. An anti-slip version of the same tiles extended to the patio to create a seamless transition between outside and in, making the whole space feel significantly larger.

Frameless designer glass balustrade maximises light for the basement room: we selected low-iron glass to reduce the green look of cheaper products. Note also extension of anti-slip floor tiles outside the glass extension to create the sense of continuity through the space.
Designer cantilevered wall-light to reach over the open space.
Practical, designer stainless steel waste-bin completes the look.
