Interior design
We encourage clients to be adventurous – but in a measured way. We start small – a fabulous cushion fabric, perhaps. Then, gently, we introduce more ideas and more show-stopping designs.
Elite fabric houses provide our fabrics. Casamance and Harlequin are amongst our favourites, from which we mix and match. Local craftspeople upholster our furniture and make curtains, blinds, cushions and accessories. We trawl the showrooms of Chelsea Harbour with specific refurbishments in mind, keeping an eye on trends and new products.
Whether for a boutique bedroom, or classic sitting room, we lay out the space, and propose lighting, furniture, colours, upholstery and fabric. It all needs to work together.
Stylish fabrics
There is so much variety that it seems difficult to know what fabric to choose. The key is not to look at fabric in isolation but in combination with all elements of your scheme. Once you see the ensemble, you’ll find it easier to select the colour, pattern, texture, weight and sheen of your fabrics.
Our message is to be bold with pattern and colour in a tasteful way. Don’t be led by convention; why should all your dining chairs be the same colour?
… and your blinds don’t all need to match – but they do need to coordinate.
If you find a fabric you love, build a scheme around it.
Neutral colour schemes
Neutral colour schemes can still exude style through your choice of fabric and upholstery. If you want a calm, restful space with neutral tones, look at animal print fabrics to accentuate the look. Nature gave us these wonderful colours and unique shapes; by copying nature, we are paying homage to it.
