If you prefer to install concealed shower fittings but only have a single skin wall to work with, you may find that a narrow partition solves your problem. Here, we squared up the space with this tapered partition.

The partition was deep enough to provide extra side storage, whilst concealing the shower and bath pipework. It also provided sufficient depth for a useful shampoo niche and light.
Constructing a shower partition
In this shower enclosure we clad the partition in glazed copper leaf tiles.

Bathroom feature wall
For this renovation, the partition conceals water supplies to the bath’s wall mounted taps. We then turned this into a feature wall. Look at the edge and you’ll see how thin the partition can be.

Bathroom storage
It is surprising how much you can store in a set of narrow shelves. The width should be sufficient for a toilet roll, with spacing to fit shampoo bottles; floor to ceiling – that’s a lot of storage. You can even fit doors to hide away the detritus.

Shampoo niche
The niche is a very neat solution for easy access to soaps and shampoos. We usually incorporate an LED spotlight on its own switch, which doubles as a low level light for night-time visits.
