As part of our home renovation service, we design and supply bespoke furniture using joiners and upholsterers local to Bath. This page introduces you to a selection of the products we’ve created. At the foot, you’ll find links to specific product types and to a page of indicative prices.
why bespoke furniture?
To make best use of space or to complement a particular decorative scheme, a bespoke solution may be the only choice. Often we find an odd room shape that can’t be filled by a retail product. Most of our bespoke furniture is for storage, particularly high quality TV cabinets and for audio visual equipment.
bespoke home office furniture
As more people work from home, retailers have expanded their ranges of desks and chairs. However, to create a look that still feels homely, we design bespoke home office furniture to suit the natural decor. Here for example, we designed integrated desks with storage and cable management. All the sockets and wires are hidden. As part of a total home office design, our bespoke home office furniture is created in conjunction with our electrical and lighting layout for the room.
Our local joiners produce cabinets to our designs which include pull out keyboard shelves and sliding, pocket doors to hide away the computing equipment when not in use.
bespoke alcove furniture
Most British period homes retain a chimney breast. To make good use of the space either side, we design bespoke alcove units with integrated lighting. Many of these also accommodate hifi and home entertainment systems. In the image below, all the electronics are hidden in the left hand base unit, with cables passing through trunking buried in the walls, and beneath the floors.
bespoke fitted bedrooms and dressing rooms
We also produce complete fitted bedroom and dressing room designs. Here is a multi-function dressing room in the process of installation. It incorporates a dressing table, wardrobe and music desk with pull out keyboard shelf, all with cable management. This bespoke furniture is made from beautiful american oak veneer with gloss cream doors and drawers. You can read more on our bespoke bedroom furniture page.
bespoke bathroom furniture
A key principle of our bathroom design is to “lose” pipes and wastes whilst providing volumes of subtle storage. Much of this is bespoke, but simple and makes great use of unused space. Below, for example, you can just about see the narrow cupboard behind the shower; this is formed as a shallow partition to accommodate the concealed supplies to the shower, whilst providing significant storage for cleaning products, loo rolls and so on.
Similarly, below we made good use of the space above the wc in this small bathroom. Our clients now benefit from a large storage cupboard that blends in with the surrounding decor.
other bespoke products
Bespoke solutions are appropriate when an off-the-shelf product is inadequate; but bespoke doesn’t necessarily imply more expensive. We have made many items for much the same price as their retail equivalents, providing specific functionality, and fitting the space more precisely.
Below is a bespoke feature wall with cabinetry that we designed to set off this home cinema.
Here is a remote-controlled TV fitted into an ottoman at the foot of the bed. Our clients wanted to make use of a spare TV. We designed the cabinetry to incorporate a lift mechanism, and a local upholsterer fitted the fabric to match the headboard.
We’ve also designed and installed many other bespoke items including stained glass door designs, a glass shower screen and this glass breakfast bar with support posts fabricated in a local engineering workshop.
Wanting to give our clients something special, we create occasional pieces such as hanging mobiles and this fabric wall art made from squares of faux suede interlaced with images chosen by the clients printed on cotton.
Many of our designs incorporate lights under shelves and in alcoves to create a wonderful feature for the room. Lighting makes all the difference to the effectiveness and enjoyment of the furniture, adding an atmospheric feel to the occasion.
Sometimes, you have no choice but to design a bespoke solution. As part of our design for this side return extension on different levels, we designed this set of steps made locally in oak.

By its very nature, every piece of bespoke furniture is different; however, as a guide, we’ve provided a selection of indicative prices.
