We are often asked about the cost of bespoke furniture and how it compares to shop bought items. Later we show specific costs of a selection of bespoke items that we designed and installed whilst carrying out home refurbishments in Bath and Bristol.
You’ll see prices ranging from £500 for an upholstered footstool to £3000 for a wall unit with integrated TV. We also look at the cost of bespoke alcove units ranging from £900 to £1200, along with audio visual cabinets and other storage. Bespoke doesn’t necessarily mean expensive; our clients are often surprised at how competitive the cost of bespoke furniture can be – and it fits perfectly.
Where additional storage is needed, we design bespoke furniture as part of our standard interior design service. We have local joiners, cabinet makers, upholsterers and other trades to make and install our products. Please read more about our interior design and home refurbishments.
The advantage of bespoke storage is that it fits precisely; it also meets particular needs such as shelf spacing, cable management, and slots for access to sockets. We also incorporate lights and other features to make the furniture special.
The following are indicative prices uplifted to January 2016 economic conditions, exclusive of VAT, and should give you a good idea for budgeting purposes.

bespoke bathroom storage
We generally specify wall-mounted bathroom fittings to make bathrooms easier to clean and look bigger (the more floor you can see, the bigger a small room will feel). This also presents the opportunity to add subtle storage around it as in this wall-mounted WC. The cupboard above has stacks of storage and a hidden light for night-time visits.
Cost of cabinetry around and above WC – £600 – £800
Storage cabinets around and above WC – £600 – £800
Where the side of the WC cabinet is exposed, you can fit hidden shelves for tucking away toilet rolls and cleaning products.
The rear tiled wall of this shower is a partition with storage behind (you can just see the hinged door). The partition serves to accommodate the hidden supplies to the shower and provides substantial storage.
Storage shelves and door behind shower – £500 – £600
