This contemporary kitchen diner in Bath gave our clients a beautiful, light-filled space with pleasing views to the garden.
We designed the layout, sourced the products and planned the project phases for this renovation. The open-plan design meant knocking through a partition wall between a breakfast room and the kitchen. Engaging an architect and structural engineer, we made the best use of space, moving the boiler to a more central location. Our plans also took account of subequent building phases that our clients planned to undertake. As with all of our designs, we plan the complete project from the start, even if discrete stages are postponed to later date.
This large space would accommodate the new kitchen and dining table.
The dining area gives the impression of a garden room with its access directly to the beautiful grounds beyond. Large, bifold doors now open up the rear elevation completely and provide level access to the garden.
The classic, hand-painted, shaker kitchen has a contemporary range cooker in pride of place. The extractor vents part way up the chimney before venting to the outside. The run of cabinets is finished neatly by curved end units, and glass wall cabinets display elegant glassware. The kitchen also boasts a round oak breakfast bar blended neatly into the granite worktop.
The clients decided to project manage the works themselves on this occasion, once we had introduced our trades and suppliers to them, although we kept in touch to see how things were going.
Thanks for all your hard work.
