Why Use an Interior Designer?

Most of our clients have never worked with an interior designer before, and they generally fall into three groups. First, there are those who seek help to plan their new space, and need advice on aesthetics. Second are those moving to Bath who have no knowledge of the local trades and suppliers. Third are those who simply don’t have the time to dedicate to a successful home renovation. You can read a selection of our clients’ kind testimonials and much of our work now comes from their word of mouth.

Being interior designers in Bath, we bring local knowledge – which builders and trades to use (and who not to use!). We know the interiors industry and have access to exclusive fabrics and other products not readily available on the high street. We produce bedroom design ideas, along with plans for contemporary kitchens. We have the ability to produce 3D visuals to help clients really understand the proposed design. We design furniture, storage, curtains and blinds, and our local artisans then make them. We have a network of reliable sources for flooring, heating, lighting, fabrics, and furniture. Above all, we dedicate a significant amount time to each client’s project.

Home renovation can be stressful when managing it yourself. We’ve trodden this path many times;  we take away your stresses and strains. That’s why clients use us.

Interior Design Awards

Leading interiors platform, Houzz, recognised our dedication to clients by presenting us with its Customer Service award for the past four years. This is based principally on our client feedback, but also on the attention we pay to queries posed by Houzz readers. We are asked questions on our projects ranging from the source of light fittings to the means of installing a wet room. Many of our designs also feature weekly in Homify; Europe’s go-to platform for interior design ideas and inspiration.

what we offer

What we offer is design and project management experience along with contacts for trades and suppliers. Ours is a total service.

The next link describes in more detail the process of working with an interior designer. In essence, our initial consultation is free. From your brief, we develop concepts then, once you are happy, we produce the design. For more extensive projects involving an extension for example, we obtain planning permission and engage structural engineers and other professionals. We write the technical specification for the work and manage contracts with trades and contractors. Throughout, we bring samples and ideas to share with you. Finally we decorate and furnish the space.

a Total Interior Design Service

As interior designers in Bath, we also design and oversee new builds and renovations. So whilst we would happily design and deliver a scheme for a bedroom, we can also turn a derelict building into the home of your dreams.

open plan design

It is worth remembering that our service covers absolutely everything:  room design, kitchen and bathroom design, flooring, lighting, decorative schemes, soft furnishing, curtains and blinds, upholstery, heating, joinery, bespoke furniture, building work and installation – everything.  It also includes planning applications, listed building consent, building control, and party wall act issues. You only need to deal with us; we do everything for you.

Design and Build Case Study

To help you see the full extent of our service in practice, we use one of our recent renovations as a case study. We designed a pair of neighbouring side return extensions (see image below) to create an open plan kitchen diner in each. We produced concepts, obtained planning permission, drafted the technical documentation, ran a competitive tender, oversaw the build, supplied fixtures and fittings, managed interfaces between the various trades and suppliers, checked payments, and handed over the finished project to our clients.

We designed the whole arrangement and delivered on time and to budget. Collaboration saved the neighbours over £10 000 each on contractor’s costs and £7000 each on project management costs. You can read a full account of this project through a series of blogs, and from a summary of the side return extension project.

Bath Architecture

Being interior designers in Bath, we particularly enjoy the challenge of transforming the city’s properties with their variety of architecture. Regency, Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, pre and post war. Every project is different. We have incorporated a contemporary interior design a Georgian apartment, and a more traditional look in a Victorian house. We have also installed both contemporary and period designs for different rooms in the same property; a traditional sitting room in an Edwardian house but with a hotel chic bathroom.
